Minano's Flowers

Here we introduce Minano, the town of blooming flowers, and the seasons for each. We hope you will use this to plan for flower-viewing trips.

Minano has Minoyama, considered as the Mt. Yoshino of Kanto due it being a famous place for cherry blossoms, with 8000 cherry blossom trees and double cherry blossoms.

Sainokuni Fureai Farm (Chichibu Takahara Farm) is the new famous spot for flowers. With 3.5 hectares of land, they have bright red poppies that color the skies. Different flowers bloom throughout all four seasons. The roses of Sharon during the summer or Chichibu crimson (adonis) of winter are famous in the mukuge Nature Park. There are also katakuri (violets), rhododendrons, hydrangeas, red spider lilies, and many other flowers for your enjoyment.

The Poppy that Colors the Skies

  • Shirley Poppy

    At a height of 500m and a square footage of 5.0 hectares, the vast area is home to 15 million Shirley Poppies.

    Their red flowers contrast the bright blue sky giving it the title of the poppy that colors the skies.

Access
  • From the JR Takasaki Line Kumagaya Station, take the Chichibu Railway to Minano Station in approximately 1 hour.
  • From Ikebukuro Station, take the Seibu Railway/Chichibu Railway to Minano Station in approximately 2 hours.
  • From Ikebukuro Station, take the Red Arrow/Chichibu Railway to Minano Station in approximately 1 hour 45 minutes.
  • From Ikebukuro Station, take the Tobu Railway/Chichibu Railway to Minano Station in approximately 2 hours.
Admission fee Sky Poppy Tourism Fee - 200 yen per person (Middle school age children and under: free)
Car park Temporary parking lot to be opened during blooming season.
